FISU's Evaluation Committee Completed the Schedule in Successfully 

- On 29th (Mon), finally the evaluation for operating facilities with the Seokwoo Cultural Gymnasium in Cheongju Univ. has been completed -

- In November 2022, the host city for World University Games Summer 2027 will be announced -

FISU's Evaluation Committee visit to Chungcheong Megacity has been completed successfully and the report from this visit will be used as an important information for determining the final hosting city for the World University Games 2027 (formerly Universiade).

The FISU Evaluation Committee arrived on 26th(Fri) August and conducted the inspection of event venues and facilities located in the Chungcheong Megacity such as Sejong Chungnam National University Hospital, Asan Yi Sunshin Gymnasium, and Daejeon World Cup Stadium until the 28th (Sun), and facility inspection with the Seokwoo Cultural Gymnasium in Cheongju Univ on 29th (Mon).

The FISU Evaluation Committee visited the athletic facilities and auxiliary facilities of the Seokwoo Cultural Gymnasium in Cheongju Univ. 

At the press conference, Kim Yoon-suk the Secretary General of the CMBC, Directors of sports from 4 cities and provinces in Chungcheong Megacity, and about 50 reporters from major broadcasters and daily newspapers attended.

The FISU Acting President Leonz Eder during the press conference said "the World University Games Summer 2027 should be a festival for athlete- students to celebrate," and "I am deeply impressed by the various programs, operation plan which has prepared by Chungcheong Megacity must be enough to make the World University Games Summer 2027 as the best college student sports event ever, I believe."

And then, he explained that "it's a bit pity that we couldn't visit all venues because some facilities are still under the construction, but considering about the full support by local governments as well as the citizens, I trust there would not have any problem."

After the FISU Evaluation Committee completed the evaluation visit for Chungcheong Megacity, they moved to Seoul via Osong Station. They had meetings with domestic sports-related organizations in Seoul on 30th (Tue), and then they are scheduled to depart on the 31st (Wed).

After this visit, the FISU Evaluation Committee is planning to visit North Carolina which is another bid city from the 17th (Sat) September to the 21st (Wed) September.

The final decision of the host city for the World University Games Summer 2027 will be decided by a vote of the executive committee members at the FISU General Assembly which will be held in Brussels, Belgium on 12 November.
