The elected persons of 4 cities and governor-elect in Chungcheong region (including Lee Jang-woo for Daejeon City, Choi Min-ho for Sejong Special Self-Governing City, Kim Young-hwan for Chungcheongbuk-do, and Kim Tae-heum for Chungcheongnam-do) elected through the 8th National Simultaneous Local Elections delivered a letter containing the unchanging will of the Chungcheong region towards the attraction 'Summer World University Games 2027 (Universiade)' in a joint name on June 20th to the Federation Internationale du Sport Universitaire (hereinafter referred to as FISU).

4 cities and provinces in Chungcheong region submitted a Letter of Intent to FISU in September last year for the joint attraction of the Games 2027, it was selected as a finalist city along with the US state of North Carolina in January this year, and are competing full-fledged attraction.

The elected persons of 4 cities and governor-elect in Chungcheong region prepared a letter with the content that "we will spare no effort in all our support to not only attract the Games, but also host successful Games even after the inauguration of a new local government" to show the firm will of the Chungcheong region toward the attraction of the Games 2027, and delivered it the FISU Headquarters.

By the successful cases of attracting large-scale international all-around competitions, the full support of local residents has been an essential foundation with the firm will of the heads of the local government.

The Chungcheong Megacity 2027 World University Games Bid Committee announces that the 'One Million Signature Campaign' to attract the Games 2027 showed a result surpassing half of the target, 500,000 people on June 9th, exceeding 584,000 people on June 16th just a week later, and from which we can see that the enthusiasm for the attraction of the Games is spreading rapidly throughout whole nation, 

and said that the Committee will do its best to prepare so that the 'Chungcheong 2027' could be resonated as a final host city in the voting of the Executive Board held in Belgium in November through on-site inspections such as technology check by FISU in July and the visiting of the Evaluation Group in August.
