The Parliament Supports the Challenge of Attracting the 2027 Chungcheong WUG with One Heart

2022-04-25

The Chungcheong Megacity 2027 World University Games Bid committee attached the supporting panels for the attraction of 2027 Summer World University Games (formerly Universiade) in the Parliamentary Offices affiliated to the Chungcheong Megacity and the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee on 25th at the National Assembly.

On the panel, it contains the wish to attract the 2027 Summer World University Games called the 'Chungcheong Megacity, We Support You in One Heart'. The Parliamentary Offices participated in the signature campaign to support attracting the Games with the attachment of support panels, which, as a result, the interest in attracting the Games became an opportunity to be spread across the country.

To attract the 2027 Summer World University Games, a festival for university students around the world, to Korea, 4 cities and provinces including Daejeon, Sejong, Chungbuk, and Chungnam are jointly challenging. Last January, Chungcheong, South Korea, has been selected as a candidate for the competition and is competing with North Carolina.

Next July and August, the technical inspection and on-site due diligence by the Federation Internationale du Sport Universitaire (FISU) will be in progress, and in October, the final announcement for the venue will be made by the General Meeting of Executive Committee Members of FISU.

The four cities and provinces in the Chungcheong Province are running a signature campaign for public participation in attracting the Games. If it is difficult to make a signature in person, people can easily participate by signing online (http://sign01.bizvion.kr/index.do), and they strive to encourage participation by awarding various prizes to the participants.

One official of the Attraction Committee asked that "we would like to ask for interest and support to promote the status of Korea and Chungcheong to the world by attracting 2027 Summer World University Games".
