Daejeon City conducted a promotion day on 'Chungcheong Day of the 2027 World University Games (Universiade)' together with Chungcheong Megacity 2027 World University Games Bid Committeeand Daejeon Sports Association for the 2027 Summer World University Games, and Hanwha Eagles, the Korean professional baseball team. 

The Hanwha Eagles are a Korean professional baseball team based in Daejeon.

On April 26th, in the home match against the Kiwoom Heroes held at the Eagles Park of the Hanwha Life Insurance, the event was conducted, before the start of the game, at the off-site publicity booth,  the cheering sticks and masks were handed out to local residents who visited the stadium. The 'One Million Signature Campaign' was also conducted and thousands of local residents participated in the campaign.

In the game, Lee Seung-chan, the President of Daejeon Sports Association made the first pitch with a wish for the success of the World University Games.

During the game and even during the cleaning time (after the 5th inning), a message to support the attraction of the Games was delivered to the spectators who visited the stadium through a large billboard.

Also during the cleaning time, there was also an opportunity to introduce the World University Games to the local people as a surprise quiz event.

Moon In-hwan, the Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Daejeon City, said that "By the attraction of 2027 Summer World University Games, we would like to ask for interest and support from the citizens to promote the status of Chungcheong and Daejeon, the science city, to the world".
